Order of the day

The ceremony starts at 1.30pm, followed by a drinks reception with canapes, the wedding breakfast and then an evening of music and dancing. Everything ends at midnight.

Afternoon:

We aim to keep everyone busy (and well-fed and watered) throughout the day. Following the ceremony, there will be some time for drinks (Prosecco and Peroni), canapes and garden games alongside an acoustic musician, who will be open to requests throughout the day.

Canapes include:

Cantaloupe melon, proscuitto, feta and mint

Sticky balsamic and mustard sausages

Balsamic tomato and pesto in crisp puff pastry (v)

Onion bhaji with mango chutney (v)

Hetty is preparing to hand out sweets and chocolate, and there may even be an ice cream cart to enjoy!

Crispy hen's egg and asparagus

Spinach and mushroom filo tart (v)

Braised beef brisket

Vegetable and lentil wellington (v)

Mixed berry pavlova

Oat and nut crumble with custard (v)

Evening

We have a DJ joining us for a disco in the evening, with food provided later on. Minute steak sandwiches will be available with salad and potatoes, alongside mixed vegetable kebabs for vegetarian guests.

Do you have a gift list?

We do not have a formal gift list as we have just about everything we could possibly need. We are most interested in having you with us.

If you would really like to do something for us, we are planning to buy a piece of art that we can enjoy- we can provide more details if you would like to contribute.

Is there a dress code?

We do not have a dress code. Please wear whatever you are comfortable in to enjoy the day.

The ceremony is planned to be outside (weather permitting) so please bear that in mind.

If we are staying at the Castle, what time can we check in?

Rooms are available from 1pm, so you will likely need to check in after the ceremony. The ceremony is at 1.30pm to 2.00pm and there will be plenty of time during the drinks reception for you to check in and get yourselves settled.

What are the payment options?

Rowton Castle accept card payments for all your bar and accommodation purchases. We will supply initial afternoon drinks and wine with the meal. Other drinks are available from the bars.

Are children welcome?

Children are more than welcome to join us. Please let us know (if you haven't already) if you are bringing your family and we will make appropriate arrangements for food etc.

What are the drinks options?

We have arranged for a choice of Peroni or Prosecco at the drinks reception and also for a choice of wine with the wedding breakfast.

Bars will be open throughout the day with other options available (payments to be made directly).

Is there parking at the venue?

Yes, there is ample free parking on site. Follow the drive round and past the next door leisure club- you will see all the parking on your left.

Are we allowed to bring confetti?

The venue allows only confetti made from fresh or dried flower petals. Please do not feel that you need to bring any unless you choose to. We will provide some dried petals for everyone to use if you want to.

Is there any entertainment during the reception?

We have an acoustic singer during the drinks reception, meal and evening. Joe will be happy to take song suggestions throughout the day.

We have also arranged for garden games and mini-golf outside- weather permitting!

We have a disco scheduled for the evening. There may even be marshmallows and a fire pit too.

Photography

We have a formal photographer- Darren Harvey, who will be present most of the day. You are more than welcome to take your own photos- we only ask that you share the best ones with us! We will set up a shared online album and would love it if you upload your favourites from the day.
